A dear reader shares her love of the beach, and what she’s learned while collecting shells:
“My beach time is my soul-searching time. The sea air is the best! I feel so blessed to see so much of Mother Nature up close and in all her glory.
“Years ago I’d wander along the shore picking up shells and tossing them aside because they were not perfect. Awhile later, I thought of myself as so far from perfect and tossed aside. I went back and started gathering the less-than-perfect shells. They are still beautiful and can be used in crafty ways. I also noticed I found more and more to gather, and as I accepted the ones with chips, I found more whole ones, too. I think the shells are like people: I don’t want to discard someone. The shells helped me become less judgmental.”
